After a long day at the championships we’re happy to report the clubs small squad had great success!
This was our clubs first competition in nearly 2 years and all squad members were competing for their first time! The results are below:
Boys 10-12yrs of age category:
Afzal Valijanov 1st place Kata and 1st place kumite (Double gold!)
Emrys Dhunnoo 2nd place kumite
6-9yr boys category:
Alisher Valijanov 2nd place kumite
Jasurbek Khamdamov 3rd place kumite and 4th kata place kata
Well done to the whole squad, for those of you who didn’t win a medal this time don’t worry about it as it was your first ever competition the most important thing is that you learn something from this experience.
Special mentions Big congratulations to Afzal and Emrys for clearing out their whole devision to face each-other in the final! To Afzal for winning the kata and kumite devisions and becoming a double champion!
Alisher and Jasurbek for getting to second and third in the same devision just missing out on a gold medal!
Eddie and ivo you both directly contributed to the squads success as you’ve all been pushing each other to get better in training sessions for many months. even though medals weren’t on the table this time I’m sure that with practice you two could both be champions in the future!
And last but definitely not least a HUGE thank you to Sensei Savino for coaching all the members and handling all the little stressful things so the competitors could focus on their events!!!I’m immensely proud of all of you that took part, you represented your club impeccably!
The next event we have to prepare for is our club grading on December 11th!
See you at the dojo
